The church is a group of people who have a definite purpose which is the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This gospel we believe and proclaim is, "the eternal good news that through the person, death, resurrection, and promised return of Jesus Christ, sin, death, and hell have been defeated and all who come to Christ in repentance and faith receive salvation, eternal life, hope, the blessings of God, strength right living, and a place in the body and ongoing mission of Christ on earth, the church, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit."

Central Baptist has a legacy stretching back over 100 years  that takes seriously the example lived out by Jesus to promote His gospel and teach people the Bible.  Our ministries seek to prepare God's people for the challenges of daily living and service to others.  Just some of the ministries dedicated to promoting the gospel and teaching the Bible include:

  • Sunday School- The Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story, the story of God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it’s our story, too.

All of our age groups are exploring God's Word using The Gospel Project curriculum across all age groups.  We believe God uses this unified approach of Bible study to speak to our families and our church as a whole.

The Gospel Project is a Bible study resource that invites Adults, Students, and Kids of all ages to dive deeply into God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ. In every lesson, participants are immersed in the gospel and learn how and when the gospel works in them so they become a part of the story too.

  • Central University- Each spring and fall we offer a variety of classes that are designed to address specific issues such as personal finances, family and parenting issues, and in-depth Bible studies.  Sign-ups for these groups begin in August with classes starting in mid-September.
  • Evangelistic Preaching- At the heart of every message preached by our pastor is an evangelistic call to everyone who would repent and receive the forgiveness of sins that only Jesus offers.  Every service is concluded with an opportunity for people to respond in a public invitation.  We practice a public invitation to encourage resolve in one's decision as well as accountability, encouragement and prayer from the congregation.
