The church is a group of people who have a definite purpose which is the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This gospel we believe and proclaim is, "the eternal good news that through the person, death, resurrection, and promised return of Jesus Christ, sin, death, and hell have been defeated and all who come to Christ in repentance and faith receive salvation, eternal life, hope, the blessings of God, strength right living, and a place in the body and ongoing mission of Christ on earth, the church, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit."

Central Baptist has a legacy stretching back over 100 years  that takes seriously the example lived out by Jesus to promote His gospel and teach people the Bible.  Our ministries seek to prepare God's people for the challenges of daily living and service to others.  Just some of the ministries dedicated to promoting the gospel and teaching the Bible include:

  • Sunday School- Our classes are Bible-based and seek to teach life truths found in the scriptures.  Each lesson is independent so no one feels like they've missed previous content.  Our lessons address everyday issues we all face and find God's solution to our situation in the Bible.  We base our curriculum on the Bible because it never changes and it's principles are eternal.

  • Growth Groups- Each spring and fall we offer a variety of classes that are designed to address specific issues such as personal finances, family and parenting issues, and in-depth Bible studies.
  • Evangelistic Preaching- At the heart of every message preached by our pastor is an evangelistic call to everyone who would repent and receive the forgiveness of sins that only Jesus offers.  Every service is concluded with an opportunity for people to respond in a public invitation.  We practice a public invitation to encourage resolve in one's decsion as well as accountability, encouragement and prayer from the congregation.
